Transformation

STEM fatale wants to contribute to the transformation of your STEM career towards a leadership position on an individual basis, but moreover, the initiative aims to have an effect on our whole society by increasing the participation of women in leadership positions in the STEM labor market and by supporting policy makers and research institutions to make further progress to create working environments which allow for gender parity.

With the survey we will be able to identify parameters with positive or negative impact on women’s careers in STEM and to

a) develop targeted educational strategies,
b) publish the results and strategies in a report and
c) propose these strategies to institutional and/or political leaders in order to sustainably improve women’s career chances towards leadership positions in STEM environments.

The STEM fatale initiative was founded to support you in transforming your career and initiate societal change.

In light of the high relevance of data-driven evidence for the effects of gender equality in leadership positions, we would like to use the Transformation page on our website to highlight recent open access publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals to show you why our diversity, equity and inclusion activities are important for science and society:

– Hiring women into senior leadership positions is associated with a reduction in gender stereotypes in organizational language (published February 2022, PNAS).

– Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Essay by the STEM fatale Initiative (published April 2022, Journal of Cell Science)
